I never asked for this disease but what I do ask is to be treated the same as before

Just because I have Schizophrenia does not mean that changes who I am. Don’t talk to me differently. Don’t love me differently. I want to be treated the same way as before. I will always be the same person in your heart even if my body does change. This change doesn’t change the memories we had together or will have together. Those will still exist forever and ever.

It has such a strong message, a diagnosis does not change who you are at your core. You are still the same person with the same heart, same memories, and you can still give love. People tend to forget that a label is not your identity.
