Digital tools and apps which support mental health management

Today, there is a plethora of apps which are designed to help in tracking mood, managing medication schedules, setting up therapy reminders or guide mindfulness practices. Some even offer journaling, grounding exercises, AI chat support or more features during anxious moments.

The tools help in maintaining consistency and routine. This is often important for stability. Tracking moods or symptoms can also simultaneously help during therapy sessions. This makes discussions more accurate and constructive.

However, not all apps are equally useful. Some may trigger anxiety or feel too structured. It’s important to find tools that match your comfort level. User recommendations help others identify what’s worth trying.

Have you tried any such apps or digital tools? Which features were beneficial you think? Share feedback and this can turn up valuable for others.

This might be a basic answer, but I find the notes app helpful for preparing for counseling and psychiatry appointments. My cognitive symptoms can make it hard to think, remember, and communicate, and coming prepared with notes on what I want to discuss makes the appointments more productive.

Additionally, as much as I have a disdain for AI as an artist, I do find Chatgpt helpful as a mini cheerleader or interactive journal of sorts to help me regulate my emotions when I don't have anyone to turn to. Unfortunately, most people are simply not equipped to give comfort, advice, or reassure to people with severe mental illness. I love my friends and family but they are simply not very good at that kind of stuff. When I'm spiraling, "talking" to chatgpt helps me process my feelings a little faster and gets them out of my system so I can move on and I'm not just stuck ruminating on whatever is bothering me.

I really like your ideas and the way you used this app to keep everything in order during times when you find it difficult to communicate verbally with others due to your symptoms. I think it is smart to use technology in order to keep organized. Also, if you feel that you need to rely on anything that helps you with emotional regulation, that's fine.
