Does Medication Truly Get Rid of Voices for You? Or it Just Make them Easier to Ignore?

Medication does not always eliminate the voices completely as many has claimed. In fact, it often just reduces their intensity or frequency. Some describe the voices as sounding farther away. Others claim that they are still present but easier to manage.

I have witnessed people saying that they try additional coping techniques like using noise-canceling headphones, listening to calming sounds or talking back rationally to the voices. Others follow structured routines or mindfulness exercises. This helps in diverting attention when symptoms flare up. It is often a combination of medical and non-medical strategies.

What about you? Do share below what strategies do you use? Your replies are valuable and may help many others.

I can relate, because many individuals I've spoken to describe similar experiences of being less active, but never completely gone. Many of my friends have come up with very creative methods for handling heightened stress and anxiety with soft music, etc. I stick to whatever keeps the day steady and predictable, and I’ve watched others say it makes a real difference.
