Many may be wondering whether medication alone is enough in managing schizophrenia. Opinions may vary and particularly based on their personal experiences. It is very true that medication often plays an important role in reducing symptoms such as hallucinations or delusions. Many claim that it does not address everything that they are struggling with. Motivation, social difficulties, anxiety, trauma or coping with daily stress may often need something more than medication.

Some claim that therapy, routines, supportive relationships and lifestyle changes may help fill them in filling the gaps that medication does not cover alone. Others suggest to learning coping techniques, understanding triggers or having someone to talk. Few claims that medication may work well on its own. Many even believe that clubbing it with additional support may lead to a better long-term stability.

There is also emotional side like feeling isolated, dealing with stigma or rebuilding confidence. Medication alone may not completely help with. Some claim benefiting from peer support, creative outlets or practicing grounding techniques.

While medication is one of the most significant components of successfully managing schizophrenia, many individuals experience their greatest amount of growth while combining medication with multiple additional supports. Having a structure in place through therapy and healthy daily routines allows one to feel more in control of everyday life.
